Jemele Hill demands harsh punishment for WNBA ref who lied to Breanna Stewart in Game 2 loss

Following a narrow postseason defeat, sports commentator Jemele Hill is calling for severe league discipline against an official who allegedly misled New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart regarding an unused timeout during the final seconds of play. Stewart stated after the matchup that she directly asked referees about a reset timeout to help advance the ball, only to be told none remained, despite the team actually retaining one prior to their unsuccessful final three-point attempt.

While lead official Fatou Cissoko-Stephens asserted the squad was indeed notified of the stoppage option, newly surfaced footage convinced Hill that the referee deliberately deceived the player, prompting her public demand to bar the official from working the remainder of the postseason games.
