James Anderson joins Italia T10 League as co-owner after Lancashire exit

Following his departure from Lancashire, veteran fast bowler James Anderson has embarked on a new venture as a co-owner and captain of the Napoli Knights in the upcoming Italia T10 League. He is partnering with his former manager and ex-Lancashire wicketkeeper Luke Sutton to lead the franchise, which is managed by their agency, Activate Sport and Leisure.

The tournament, established by Nadeem Shahid and Aamir Akhtar under the banner of Apex T10 Limited, features six teams and aims to bolster the presence of cricket within Italy.

The competition is scheduled to take place from November 18 through November 29. Beyond the tournament itself, the ownership group intends to foster local talent development through specialized clinics.

While the financial specifics of the partnership remain undisclosed, both Anderson and Sutton have expressed enthusiasm for the project's potential to elevate the sport's profile in the region.
