Jamal Shead, Raptors agree to 3-year, $24 million contract extension: report

Reserve guard Jamal Shead has secured a three-year contract extension worth $24 million to remain with the Toronto Raptors through the end of the decade. The former second-round draft pick out of Houston has established himself as a vital defensive contributor and backup playmaker under head coach Darko Rajaković, overcoming shooting limitations with exceptional assist-to-turnover numbers and disruptive full-court pressure.

Although his perimeter and inside scoring remain works in progress, Shead's high-impact defensive rating and steady floor generalship helped propel the franchise back to the postseason during a seven-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
