Cincinnati wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase exited Sunday's matchup against Jacksonville during the second quarter following a four-yard reception. Defender Jarrian Jones brought Chase down by the facemask, drawing a penalty flag on the play.
Medical staff initially examined Chase inside the sideline tent before escorting him to the locker room for further tests regarding a potential head injury. Prior to his exit, the star pass-catcher recorded three receptions totaling 26 yards.
While the offensive star was being evaluated, Cincinnati managed to get on the scoreboard during the same possession. Evan McPherson converted a 29-yard field goal with ten minutes remaining in the first half to level the score at 3-3.
Jacksonville had previously taken the lead earlier in the contest courtesy of a 55-yard field goal kicked by Cam Little in the closing moments of the opening quarter.
