Ahead of their season opener, the Islanders added left-handed blue-liner Logan Stanley to a one-year agreement on Sunday. The move followed a difficult training camp for Isaiah George, who was reassigned to AHL Hamilton alongside Kashawn Aitcheson and Cole Eiserman, while Vitek Vanecek was placed on waivers.
Stanley, selected 18th overall in 2016, enters New York at age 28 after splitting the previous campaign between the Jets and Sabres, where he accumulated nine goals and 17 assists.
The team is scheduled to kick off their regular season schedule on Wednesday. They will face the Maple Leafs in an away game to begin their campaign.
