Intriguing players to watch in Falcons vs. Bengals
The Atlanta Falcons and Cincinnati Bengals will face off in Madrid this weekend, with both teams needing a win to keep their playoff aspirations alive after a recent setback. Atlanta’s quarterback, Michael Penix Jr., is under pressure to rebound from his worst performance of the season, throwing four interceptions in his last outing against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Penix, known for his strong ball security, must prove he can bounce back from this outlier to maintain his consistency and leadership in a critical game. Meanwhile, Falcons running back Bijan Robinson, who leads the NFL in rushing yards, will look to reclaim his dominant form after a recent slump.
His ability to control the clock and protect the ball will be key to slowing down the Bengals’ high-powered offense. On the defensive side, Falcons center Ryan Neuzil will face a tough challenge against Bengals defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, who has been a standout this season.
Neuzil and the Falcons’ interior line will need to neutralize Lawrence to protect Penix and facilitate Robinson’s running game. Another intriguing matchup will be between Falcons cornerback A.J.
Terrell and Bengals star wideout Ja’Marr Chase, a rematch of their 2020 national championship showdown.
