Former India cricketer Robin Uthappa has unveiled his dream 15-player squad for the 2027 ODI World Cup, set to be hosted across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia from October 4 to November 21. The lineup includes standout picks like 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has yet to make his ODI debut, and Sanju Samson, chosen ahead of established wicketkeepers Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan.
Uthappa’s selection features a mix of experience and youth, with Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli anchoring the batting lineup, while Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja provide all-round firepower. The bowling attack includes Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who last played an ODI in 2022 but remains a key figure with 141 wickets at an average of 35.1.
Notable omissions include Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan, and Washington Sundar, despite their recent contributions to India’s white-ball success, including Jaiswal’s 285 ODI runs and Sundar’s 445 runs and 30 wickets in 34 matches.
