India questioned over Vaibhav Sooryavanshi selection call: ‘Played him against England, dropped him vs Afghanistan’

Ex-Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal has expressed bewilderment over India deploying a front-line roster rather than experimenting with bench strength during their current three-game home T20I leg opposite Afghanistan. Akmal highlighted the sidelining of 15-year-old batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for Sunday's opener in Delhi, noting it made little sense to introduce the prodigy against a challenging England side abroad only to bench him against less formidable opposition.
