India brings 5,000 years of heritage to Para Asian Games opening ceremony

The Indian delegation showcased a deep connection to history during the Para Asian Games opening ceremony by donning blazers adorned with Indus Valley civilization motifs and SaptSindhu references. Led by flag-bearers Simran Sharma and Pramod Bhagat, over 100 competitors participated in the event.

India has dispatched a total of 281 individuals, including 168 athletes, to participate in 11 different sports. These games, which feature roughly 3,000 participants from 45 countries, are scheduled to end on October 24.

This follows India's previous outing in Hangzhou, where the nation secured a historic haul of 111 medals to place fifth overall.
