Colorado is looking to secure its first Big 12 victory this weekend by focusing on containing Kansas State signal-caller Avery Johnson. While Johnson has accumulated over 1,300 passing yards and 450 rushing yards this season, his availability remains uncertain due to injury.
The Buffaloes hope to force him to operate strictly from the pocket, where he has historically struggled to produce high-volume passing numbers. Kansas State previously found success on the ground against Kansas with a tandem effort from Johnson and Joe Jackson, both of whom surpassed 130 rushing yards in that contest.
Colorado must rebound defensively after a difficult outing against Drew Mestemaker and Oklahoma State to keep their conference hopes alive.
