The New York Liberty secured a historic series sweep on Tuesday evening by defeating the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx 87-71. This milestone marks the first time an eighth seed has eliminated a number-one seed in the opening round of the WNBA playoffs.

Jonquel Jones and Breanna Stewart each contributed twenty-one points to drive the effort, while teammate Sabrina Ionescu added eighteen points to the final tally. Following a coaching change in the offseason that brought in Chris DeMarco and the departure of Sandy Brondello, the squad is now advancing to the semifinals.
