Hardik Pandya has suffered another setback in his recovery after experiencing renewed pain in his right shin. The thirty-two-year-old all-rounder will sit out the upcoming three India A matches against Australia A in Puducherry beginning October 6.
Fresh medical scans prompted the Board of Control for Cricket in India medical team to recommend a prolonged period of rest. This recurring shin problem previously forced him to miss the Afghanistan T20Is and derailed his rehabilitation at the Board of Control for Cricket in India Centre of Excellence.
With physical workouts halted for the next ten to fifteen days, his participation in the New Zealand T20I series next month appears highly improbable. Team selectors are adopting a cautious stance to ensure he recovers fully ahead of the 2027 World Cup.
