Indian long-distance runner Gulveer Singh achieved a historic milestone at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya by claiming his third medal of the competition. He secured the bronze medal in the men's 5,000-meter race with a timing of 13 minutes and 32.75 seconds, adding to the silver medals he previously earned in the 1,500-meter and 10,000-meter events.
With this latest podium finish, Gulveer joins an elite group as only the second track and field competitor from India to capture three medals at a single edition of the Games. The 5,000-meter gold was won by Birhanu Balew representing Bahrain in 13:30.79, while Tomonori Yamaguchi of Japan took silver by crossing the finish line in 13:31.43.
