Grant Flower is set to depart Sussex at the end of October 2026, citing the organization's ongoing fiscal instability as the primary driver for his exit. The 55-year-old coach, who joined the club in early 2022, oversaw a period that included a promotion to the top tier of the County Championship in 2024 and a third-place finish in 2026.
Starting in November, Flower will join the coaching staff at Surrey to assist head coach Gareth Batty. He brings extensive international experience to the role, having previously held positions with the national teams of Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
This appointment follows the vacancy created by Jim Troughton's departure to Warwickshire.
