Richarlison recently featured for the Tottenham Hotspur under-21 squad during an EFL Trophy match against Cheltenham Town. The 29-year-old forward, who previously played for Brazil in the 2022 World Cup, scored a half-volley and converted a penalty in a shootout that ended in a 7-6 defeat for his side following a 2-2 draw.

This appearance marked his first competitive action since August, as the striker has been excluded from the club's 25-man Premier League roster. Manager Roberto de Zerbi stated that the decision to omit the player followed a failed transfer window move and the forward's expressed desire to depart the club.

Tottenham currently sits in the relegation zone as the lowest-scoring team in the top flight, raising questions about the choice to sideline their former leading scorer.
