Following a season-ending knee injury suffered by Brian Burns, the New York Giants bolstered their outside linebacker depth by taking Jihad Ward away from the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad. Ward, initially drafted in the second round back in 2016 by the Raiders, participated in Thursday's practice session to solidify the transaction.
This marks Ward's second stint with the New York franchise, having previously collected eight sacks across thirty-four appearances during the 2022 and 2023 campaigns. Throughout his career, he has also spent time with the Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, and Baltimore Ravens, though he did not play in any regular season contests for Minnesota after joining them in early September.
