New York decided to part ways with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on September 29, cutting short his second stint with the franchise.
The veteran played twenty snaps across three appearances to begin the campaign, catching a single target while sitting behind Malik Nabers, Malachi Fields, and Darnell Mooney on the depth chart. This departure follows an offseason homecoming that brought him back to the organization where he previously played before moving to Cleveland in 2019, while also reuniting him with head coach John Harbaugh from their Baltimore days.
The offensive shakeup comes shortly after a season-ending knee injury to Jaxson Dart prompted front-office changes. On September 28, the front office acquired quarterback J.J.
McCarthy from Minnesota via trade to bolster the roster. With limited playing time and a deep receiver room, the organization elected to terminate the contract of the thirty-three-year-old pass-catcher.
