The New York Giants bolstered their defensive depth on Tuesday by promoting veteran linebacker Malik Harrison to the active roster. This roster move was triggered by the placement of defensive lineman Chauncey Golston on injured reserve over the weekend.
Harrison brings seven years of NFL experience to his new team, having previously played for the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers. To backfill the vacancy created on the practice squad by Harrison's promotion, the franchise officially added defensive end Dawuane Smoot.
