Despite a difficult 1-3 start following a defeat against Stanford where the opposing quarterback recorded 396 passing yards and three touchdowns, Georgia Tech features bright spots in running back Trelain Maddox and wide receiver Dalen Penson. Maddox, one of four permanent summer captains who has historically managed injuries, delivered his initial career multi-touchdown performance by gaining 40 rushing yards with a score alongside 48 receiving yards and an additional touchdown while contributing across blocking and all four special teams units.

Meanwhile, Penson successfully transitioned from cornerback to receiver to address preseason doubts about the position group, currently pacing the squad in receiving yards and stretching the field for the offense.
