Sunil Gavaskar has warned that India's current reliance on an eight-batter lineup in T20 Internationals is undermining their bowling attack. Following a series against the West Indies in October 2026 where the opposition repeatedly surpassed the 200-run mark, the former captain argued that extending the batting order compromises bowling depth.
He suggested that instead of searching for an unattainable replica of Hardik Pandya, selectors should utilize versatile all-rounders like Naman Dhir and Axar Patel to establish a more balanced team structure.
