Gabriel, 15, in Barcelona amid speculation over future

Fifteen-year-old talent Gabriel has traveled to Barcelona while questions mount regarding his standing at Manchester United, having remained away from club practice sessions since netting three goals during his Uefa Youth League bow on 10 September. Due to tournament regulations, he cannot represent any other club in that competition for the remainder of the campaign.

Tensions escalated among those close to the teenager after United opted against including him on the squad list for a Champions League clash against Sabah FK, a fixture Michael Carrick's team claimed by a 4-0 scoreline.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's Premier League meeting with Fulham, Carrick urged caution and privacy regarding Gabriel's circumstances, emphasizing the need to protect the young player amid heightened attention. Although Gabriel found the net in both of his initial Premier League 2 appearances this term, he has been left out of Friday's match against Brentford at Leigh Sports Village.
