From UP’s junior ranks to the Youth Tests: The rise of Ayaan Akram

Uttar Pradesh all-rounder Ayaan Akram has advanced to the India Under-19 squad after displaying strong domestic form. Benefiting from an injury to Pranav Ragavendra, Ayaan stepped into the Youth Test side following a dominant 2025-26 season where he captured 37 wickets and contributed over 300 runs.

His progression through the state junior levels included 25 wickets and 200 runs during the 2023-24 Under-16 competition. Guided by the influence of his father and former junior cricketer Akram Saifi, the youngster aims to maintain his steady development match by match.
