From a Dream to History: Thailand’s Volleyball Journey to the Olympic Games

Thailand secured a historic first Olympic berth in women's volleyball after defeating host nation China 3-2 in the final of the AVC Women's Volleyball Continental Championship. Head coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai and player Pornpun Guedpard pointed to years of resilience, generational blending, and long-term development as key factors behind the milestone triumph.

Financial and technical backing has fueled the program's growth, including USD 420,000 channeled into men's and women's volleyball alongside USD 138,000 worth of equipment from the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment initiative. This structured investment in youth pathways and coaching staff enabled the senior squad to successfully integrate veterans with rising prospects ahead of the LA28 Olympic cycle.
