Former West Ham keeper Miklosko dies aged 64

Ludek Miklosko, the celebrated former Czech Republic, Queens Park Rangers, and West Ham United goalkeeper, has passed away at 64 years old. Between 1990 and 1998, he represented the Hammers in nearly 400 matches, earning such deep affection from the fanbase that supporters continued chanting his name decades later.

Following his playing career, he rejoined the East London side to serve as their goalkeeping coach.

Miklosko had been diagnosed with cancer three years prior and chose to halt medical treatment in December 2024. Shortly afterward, he attended a Premier League fixture against Liverpool at London Stadium, where the crowd greeted him with an emotional ovation.

West Ham officially confirmed his death with immense sorrow, honoring the legacy of their iconic former player and mentor whom they remembered as an inspiring gentle giant.
