Colorado head coach Deion Sanders opted to pull starting quarterback Julian Lewis during a road matchup against Baylor after the offense fell into an early 10-3 hole in the first half. Backup Isaac Wilson took over under center, guiding the unit to its initial touchdown of the afternoon in the final period and finishing the contest with 156 passing yards on 12 completions.
Lewis managed 75 yards through the air by completing 11 of his 16 attempts prior to the benching. Ultimately, Baylor secured a 23-13 victory over the visiting squad.
The quarterback change initiates another positional debate for Colorado under offensive coordinator Brennan Marion as the team drops to a 2-2 record. Wilson previously entered the picture late last year when Sanders shuffled three different signal-callers during a difficult stretch.
Next up, the squad faces a grueling pair of games against ranked opponents in No. 11 Texas Tech and No.
