Ferrari is preparing a significant aerodynamic overhaul for its SF-26 car in the final stretch of the 2026 Formula 1 season, aiming to close the performance gap with rivals. The updates, expected to debut at the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, include a redesigned floor to enhance downforce and airflow efficiency, along with revised sidepods and bodywork tweaks to improve straight-line speed.
While the new floor may arrive as early as next weekend, the sidepod and bodywork changes are likely to make their debut at the Mexico City Grand Prix the following week. With just six races remaining, Ferrari seeks to solidify its second-place standing in the Constructors’ Championship, currently trailing Red Bull by 112 points, while also addressing its drivers’ positions in the standings—Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton currently rank third and fifth, respectively.
The Italian team’s upgrades come as Red Bull, led by Max Verstappen, has shown renewed form, winning the last two Grands Prix and tightening the championship race.
