Fernandez signs new London City contract

London City Lionesses have secured the services of Jana Fernandez on an extended deal that runs through 2029. The 24-year-old right-back arrived from Barcelona twelve months ago and swiftly established herself as a vital figure in manager Eder Maestre's squad.

During London City's maiden Women's Super League campaign, she featured in every fixture on the schedule, helping the club secure a sixth-place finish and earning the supporters' player of the year accolade.

Expressing her happiness with the agreement, Fernandez highlighted the organization's growth and stated that she feels thoroughly established and excited to contribute to the collective project alongside her colleagues and the fanbase. Prior to her switch to English football, the defender developed through Barcelona's youth ranks, collecting five domestic league titles, three Champions League trophies, and three Copas de la Reina.

At international level, she was a member of the Spain squad that earned silver behind England at Euro 2025.
