Ferguson retains Rangers dream but Bologna exit never close

Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson has addressed his lifelong ambition to pull on a Rangers jersey one day, though he clarified that a departure from his current club was never close to happening. The Scotland international remains tied to the Italian side through a deal lasting until 2028, which includes an option to extend by an additional twelve months.

Having featured in every single minute across five league fixtures this campaign, the player acknowledged his deep familial roots and childhood allegiance to the Glasgow giants. Both his father Derek and uncle Barry previously represented the club, with the latter serving as captain and manager at the stadium.

Earlier in the summer, newly appointed manager Derek McInnes mentioned a natural connection to the midfielder, having previously coached him during their time together at Aberdeen.
