F1 approves shorter races for 2027 to fit revised power unit plan

Formula 1 officials gathered in London on Monday to evaluate alterations tied to upcoming power unit regulations. The Formula 1 Commission endorsed a plan to shorten grand prix distances by fifteen kilometres starting in 2027, trimming the standard total from 305km down to 290km.

This adjustment still requires formal ratification from the World Motor Sport Council governed by the FIA.
