Exeter Chiefs have brought in Welsh international Carwyn Tuipulotu on a short-term deal to bolster their back-row depth for the remainder of the season. The 25-year-old forward, who previously played for Scarlets and had a brief stint with Saracens in 2025, joins from French club Pau after becoming a free agent.
Tuipulotu, whose rugby lineage includes former Tonga international Kati Tuipulotu and a family connection to Wales and Lions stars like Taulupe Faletau and the Vunipola brothers, expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to reunite with Exeter teammate Greg Fisilau, his cousin and training partner with the Dragons. The move reflects Chiefs’ focus on reinforcing their squad with players who align with their club culture and have firsthand experience in elite competition.
