Evaluating Minnesota ahead of matchup vs Michigan

As the Michigan Wolverines prepare for their initial away contest of the autumn against the Minnesota Gophers, head coach P.J. Fleck enters the weekend holding an overall career mark of sixty-nine wins and forty-five losses since taking over the program in 2017.

Minnesota enters the meeting sporting a three and one record, having secured victories against Eastern Illinois, Akron, and Washington alongside a defeat to Mississippi State. Quarterback Drake Lindsey has orchestrated a productive aerial game with seven scoring strikes, while running back TJ Thomas paces the ground attack by averaging better than seven yards per rushing attempt alongside teammate Darius Taylor.

Defensively, linebacker Maverick Baranowski anchors the unit with twenty-eight total stops, supported by Karter Mentz registering three sacks and Joey Gerlach forcing three fumbles. Special teams have provided explosive sparks as well, highlighted by Javon Tracy accumulating nearly three hundred punt return yards and a pair of touchdowns, while placekicker Luke Drzewiecki remains perfect on all six field goal attempts.
