After 37 years as the face of the program, Ernie Johnson has announced that the current season will be his final one as host of Inside the NBA. The 70-year-old broadcaster explained that he decided to step away because the preparation required for the role has become more demanding than rewarding.
Following the announcement, his long-time colleagues Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O'Neal expressed their deep appreciation for his leadership and tenure on the show. NBA commissioner Adam Silver also released a statement praising Johnson for his character and his significant influence on the league's media landscape.
