England's Gibson to stay at Somerset through 2028

Somerset has secured the services of England international Dani Gibson on a contract extension that runs through the conclusion of the 2028 campaign. The 25-year-old all-rounder has made eight appearances for the county across the previous two seasons, amassing 262 runs featuring a personal best of 77.

On the international stage, she has represented England in six ODIs and 35 T20Is, compiling 722 runs alongside claiming 21 wickets.

Somerset head coach Erin Osborne welcomed the retention, emphasizing the invaluable depth of insight Gibson provides to the squad. Osborne highlighted that integrating a player of Gibson's stature offers critical educational opportunities for the team's emerging, youthful roster.
