England forward Packer to miss North America tour

England's most experienced active international, Marlie Packer, will miss the upcoming North American tour to support her partner, Rosie Galligan, who is expecting a baby. While Packer remains in the UK, the squad receives a boost with the return of prop Kelsey Clifford following her recovery from a hamstring issue.

Other players including Delaney Burns, Haidee Head, and Sophie McQueen are sidelined for the trip due to injuries. The team travels to face Canada and the United States after a busy September schedule that included victories over Australia and New Zealand alongside a draw against the Canadians.

Head coach John Mitchell is emphasizing squad unity as the team prepares for these upcoming fixtures, which include a two-match series against Canada.
