Mason Crane has earned a recall to the England squad for the upcoming one-day international tri-series in Pakistan, marking his first potential appearance for the national side in eight years. The 29-year-old leg-spinner joins returning players Sam Curran and Adil Rashid alongside uncapped talents James Coles and Henry Crocombe.
Meanwhile, Jos Buttler misses out due to a hamstring injury, Jacob Bethell continues recovering from knee surgery, and Brydon Carse remains sidelined during an ongoing investigation. Harry Brook will captain the team in matches that also feature Sri Lanka next month.
In preparation for the 50-over World Cup in southern Africa next year, England are playing exclusively white-ball fixtures ahead of a December Test series in South Africa. Following the action in Pakistan, the squad travels to Australia for three one-day internationals and five T20s in November.
White-ball head coach Brendon McCullum will be supported in Pakistan by assistant coaches Jeetan Patel, Mike Yardy, David Saker, and Carl Hopkinson. Other staff members including Marcus Trescothick, Sarah Taylor, and Tim Southee will sit out this tour as part of a planned rotation of the coaching setup.
