Efton Chism III’s amazing one-handed TD catch might have saved the Patriots’ season

Drake Maye and the New England Patriots secured a much-needed victory over the Buffalo Bills during week four of the 2026 season, avoiding a dreaded one and three start. Trailing by five points in the fourth quarter, Maye targeted undrafted wide receiver Efton Chism III, who hauled in an incredible one-handed touchdown grab despite defensive pass interference to put his team ahead.

New England then sealed the win by intercepting Josh Allen on the ensuing drive. Chism, who entered the contest with only five career receptions, delivered a massive clutch play that overshadowed a previously rough start to the campaign for his quarterback.
