A recent account from Adam Schefter indicates that former quarterback Drew Brees entertained the possibility of coming out of retirement to step in for the Denver Broncos during their previous postseason push. That hypothetical scenario surfaced following an ankle fracture suffered by rookie signal-caller Bo Nix.
