The DP World Tour has confirmed that its playoff events scheduled in the United Arab Emirates will proceed as planned, despite escalating tensions in the Middle East. This decision comes as other major sporting events in the region face uncertainty, including the postponement of the Asian Tour’s season-ending PIF Saudi International due to security concerns following recent attacks.
Saudi Arabia, in particular, has seen multiple high-profile cancellations, with the Six Kings Slam tennis exhibition—originally set to feature Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic—delayed from October to December after a series of Houthi rebel strikes. The Asian Cup, slated for January 2027 in Saudi Arabia, may also be pushed back to 2028 if regional instability persists, according to the Asian Football Confederation.
Meanwhile, Formula One’s season finale in Qatar and Abu Dhabi remains in doubt amid ongoing violence, further complicating the sporting calendar for the region.
