Dominant since return from IL, Pivetta to start Game 3 of NLDS

Manager Craig Stammen announced that right-hander Nick Pivetta will take the mound for Game 3 of the National League Division Series. The matchup is scheduled for Tuesday in San Diego as the Padres face the Brewers, with Pivetta working on five days of rest following his appearance behind Michael King in the Wild Card round against the Cubs.

Having missed five months due to a right elbow flexor strain, Pivetta has posted a 1.64 ERA since returning from the injured list on September 7.

Walker Buehler remains unavailable while on the paternity list, though he could potentially pitch in a Game 4. Stammen expressed confidence in Pivetta's ability to handle high-pressure situations based on his strong performances since returning from injury and his solid outing against Chicago.
