The Detroit Lions survived a dramatic Week 1 battle at home, ultimately edging out the New Orleans Saints with a 31-30 overtime triumph. Detroit had previously established a commanding 21-point cushion, but a severe breakdown by their defensive backs allowed New Orleans to mount a furious comeback and push the clash into an extra period.

In addition to the collective result, postgame evaluations designated 13 individual risers and seven fallers on the squad.

Jahmyr Gibbs spearheaded the attack with a sensational rushing performance, and pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson proved overwhelming up front, pacing Detroit on the defensive side alongside three top-performing offensive linemen. Conversely, the evening proved difficult for wideout Jameson Williams, who faltered during the contest and landed among those deemed losers from the season opener.
