Daily Norseman Roundtable: Know Your Enemy — The Detroit Lions
Follow
The Detroit Lions head into the 2026 campaign aiming to rebound from a 9-8 record that left them outside the postseason picture. Head coach Dan Campbell expressed strong belief in his squad leading into their home opener against the New Orleans Saints at Ford Field, having already selected team captains and declared the group ready to challenge any opponent right out of the gate.
Key expectations for Detroit's projected success rely on standout performances from running back Jahmyr Gibbs and pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson, even as questions persist regarding offensive line protection and defense. Meanwhile, quarterback Jared Goff did not take snaps during the preseason, setting the stage for Week 1 to test how quickly the offense can find its rhythm in the quest for an NFC North title and potential championship run.
