Indiana Hoosiers head coach Curt Cignetti has openly predicted Michigan will start true freshman Tommy Carr against his team this Saturday, rather than waiting for the Wolverines to make an official announcement. Carr, who entered the Penn State game as a second-half replacement for Bryce Underwood, delivered a standout performance, completing 5 of 7 passes for 47 yards and rushing for 36 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown that sealed Michigan’s 21-18 victory.
Cignetti, who watched the second half of that game, suggested Carr could even share the field with Underwood—a tactic Michigan frequently employed under former coach Kyle Whittingham during his tenure at Utah. The Hoosiers (6-1) are preparing for Carr to start, though the possibility of a split between the two quarterbacks remains on the table.
Michigan (4-2) and Indiana will face off at noon ET on Fox, with the Wolverines hosting in their iconic stadium.
