Cowboys—not the Lions—trading for Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr.

The Dallas Cowboys secured a deal for Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. ahead of the Detroit Lions, who had also explored acquiring the defensive player. The transaction requires Dallas to surrender a sixth-round selection in 2027 alongside a second-round choice in 2028.

Porter enters this move finishing his rookie agreement while seeking a substantial pay raise exceeding thirty million dollars annually. Over forty-one career starts, he has accumulated three interceptions, thirty-one defended passes, and one hundred sixty-five total tackles, though his aggressive style has also produced thirty-eight total penalties.
