The Dallas Cowboys enter Thursday Night Football with a chance to climb above .500, facing a Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that has stumbled out of the gate with a 0-4 record. The Cowboys’ offense, led by quarterback Dak Prescott, has been on fire, with Prescott throwing for 1,065 yards, eight touchdowns, and just one interception through four games.
His recent three-game interception drought has coincided with Dallas scoring at least 31 points in each of those contests, while running back Javonte Williams has added another dimension, scoring three rushing touchdowns in the last game alone. The Buccaneers’ struggles are compounded by the absence of starting quarterback Baker Mayfield, who is sidelined with a thumb injury, leaving rookie Jalon Daniels to make his second career start.
Daniels managed just 148 passing yards and threw two interceptions in his debut, and now faces a short week before taking on Dallas in a road game at AT&T Stadium. Without defensive standout Antoine Winfield Jr.
and with a porous pass rush allowing 16 sacks in four games, Tampa Bay’s already shaky defense looks even more vulnerable. Meanwhile, Prescott has CeeDee Lamb—who recorded 189 receiving yards in the last game—and a strong supporting cast to exploit the Buccaneers’ secondary, which is missing one of its best players.
