Comebacks, fly-hacks and cornrows - Prem talking points

Saracens opened their campaign with a dramatic forty to thirty-eight victory against Leicester on the road, following an ambitious preseason address by Brendan Venter emphasizing total dominance over simple competitiveness. Despite losing Olly Hartley to injury early and playing a man down after Nick Isiekwe received a twenty-minute red card, the visitors prevailed behind mental resilience praised by Ben Earl, alongside contributions from newcomers like Tomos Williams and younger squad members including Olamide Sodeke and Nathan Michelow.

Meanwhile, during Friday night action elsewhere, Bath secured a victory over Harlequins highlighted by a remarkable defensive sequence from Santi Carreras, who intercepted a pass with a booted deflection before gathering the ball to score.
