College football player dies: Southern Nazarene's Tyler Ulrich, 21, was injured in game last week

Southern Nazarene University is mourning the loss of sophomore safety Tyler Ulrich, who passed away this week following a severe injury sustained during a game on October 10. The 21-year-old athlete, who ranked third on his team with 36 tackles, spent five days in the hospital after receiving emergency care on the field.

Following the tragedy, the university has canceled its upcoming game against Southwestern Oklahoma State University. University president Keith Newman and coach Dustin Hada have both issued statements honoring Ulrich, describing him as a dedicated teammate and a person of strong character.
