Bhuvneshwar Kumar returns to the Indian cricket team after a three-year absence, making his first appearance since November 2022 in a T20I against New Zealand. The left-arm pacer, recalled due to Arshdeep Singh’s shoulder injury, will take the field in the fifth and final T20I against the West Indies in Bengaluru on Saturday.
His comeback follows standout performances in the IPL, particularly in 2026, where he finished as the second-highest wicket-taker with 28 scalps in 16 matches. India’s bowling unit, which has struggled for consistency in recent bilateral series, could benefit from Kumar’s new-ball and death-over expertise, adding much-needed depth to the squad’s pace attack.
