Cody ‘Beef’ Franke’s Family Asks Golf to Keep His Kindness Alive

The 2026 Internet Invitational recently debuted with a tribute to the late Cody Franke, a former tournament champion who passed away at 31. His family used the event to encourage participants to recognize the often-overlooked staff members who support the golf industry, reflecting Franke's own reputation for making others feel valued.

Franke, who previously worked at Desert Willow Golf Resort and Thornberry Creek at Oneida, was remembered for his instructional video series and his collaborative spirit with colleagues like Ryan Szydlowski and Brett Shoopman. The tournament trophy now bears his name to honor his legacy as a PGA professional and Fore Play personality.
