New defensive coordinator Mike Rutenberg is set to unveil his restructured Cleveland Browns defense in their Week 1 matchup on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The coaching shift follows an offseason overhaul, with Rutenberg emphasizing an intense, aggressive style aimed at establishing dominance right from the start.
All eyes will also be on pass rusher Jared Verse as he makes his regular-season debut for Cleveland after arriving from the Los Angeles Rams in a major blockbuster trade. Entering the third year of his career with two Pro Bowl selections and the AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award under his belt, Verse looks to build upon a previous campaign where he topped Los Angeles with 67 quarterback pressures and tallied 7.5 sacks.
