Chiefs News: Spags pulled aside defense after opening drive in Miami

During a recent contest in Miami, Kansas City defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo gathered his unit on the sideline following a lengthy opening possession by the opposing squad that yielded considerable yardage. Defensive players George Karlaftis and Chris Jones noted that the coach urged everyone to sharpen their execution and remain entirely focused on the current play rather than dwelling on prior outcomes.

In other facets of the game, offensive tackle Kahlil Benson stepped in for the injured Josh Simmons and worked through some second-half pass protection difficulties against fast edge rushers. Meanwhile, quarterback Patrick Mahomes secured his 115th victory in his 150th career start, equalling a historic milestone previously set by Tom Brady as the team improved its record.
